Personality what they are like

A working gundog bred to find and point game for the hunter; sources focus on its field work rather than describing temperament in detail.1

Daily activity how busy a day looks

Bred as a pointing dog for hunters, so it suits owners who can give it regular outdoor work, long walks or field activities.1

Grooming and care the hands-on bits

The short, smooth coat is low maintenance; an occasional brush is enough.1

The story where it all began

Mallorcan hunters relied on this pointer from the 1700s into the early 1900s. Imported pointing breeds later pushed it close to disappearing, until a breed club formed in 1995 and a stud-book followed in 2002.1
