Friendly, lively and loving, the Pomapoo enjoys being the centre of attention and a cuddle on the sofa. It is curious, clever and keen to please, and tends to be a watchful little alarm bell when someone arrives.21

Moderate: about 30 minutes a day of short walks and interactive play.21

Brush regularly (daily for fuller coats, a few times a week for others) and book a professional groom every 4-8 weeks. Also trim nails, clean ears and brush teeth.21

Fits well in flats and larger homes alike, as long as it gets plenty of time with its people.2

The story where it all began

The Pomapoo appeared in North America in the late 1990s when breeders began pairing Pomeranians with Toy Poodles. The Pomeranian side descends from larger Spitz-type dogs of north-eastern Europe and was made fashionable in Britain by Queen Victoria, while the Poodle began as a German water dog that later became a favourite of French royalty.1
