The story where it all began

The breed grew out of hounds, pointers and other hunting dogs brought to Colombia by Spanish colonists from the 1500s and later by British soldiers during the wars of independence. Isolated in rural regions for centuries, it was shaped by practical selection into a versatile hunting dog found on farms across the country.324
