The story where it all began

The Tiffanie came out of the same early-1980s British Chinchilla Persian and Burmese matings that produced the Burmilla, when longer-haired kittens appeared in the Asian programme. Breeders developed them as the semi-longhaired branch of the group, and the GCCF gave it championship status in 2003.123

Fun facts for the dinner table

  1. 1

It is the only semi-longhaired member of the Asian group.2

  2. 2

It is often mixed up with the North American Chantilly-Tiffany, which is a different breed.1

  3. 3

The Australian Tiffanie, developed in the late 1990s, carries more Chinchilla Persian ancestry than the British version.1
